As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
* Assist in the preparation and cooking of hot and cold dishes, following established recipes and kitchen procedures.
* Support the kitchen staff in the daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely service.
* Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients and supplies to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including all equipment, tools, and work areas.
* Assist in the plating and garnishing of dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's presentation standards.
* Observe and assist with food safety, sanitation standards, and health regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
* Help prepare ingredients for cooking and assist with food prep tasks, including chopping, slicing, and mixing.
* Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying supervisors when stock levels are low.
* Learn and execute basic cooking techniques and methods under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
* Participate in kitchen team meetings and provide feedback on processes or improvements for efficiency.
* Collaborate with the team to provide excellent service and support during peak service times.
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:
* Current enrollment in a Culinary Arts program or equivalent.
* A strong passion for cooking and food preparation, with a desire to learn in a professional kitchen setting.
* Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and food safety regulations.
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Flexible and willing to take on various kitchen tasks as needed.
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects when necessary.
* Prior experience in a kitchen setting is a plus but not required.
