About the role:
As Commercial & Market Regulation Advisor at Maersk you will be responsible for compiling a comprehensive overview of global regulations impacting the company's commercial operations. This role requires strong stakeholder management skills to effectively liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent data skills to aggregate and analyze regulatory information, ensuring it is presented in a cohesive manner. A structured approach and a strategic mindset are essential for gathering and synthesizing knowledge. Once the regulatory overview is established, the Advisor will help develop strategies for engaging with regulatory bodies to drive improvements and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Regulation Repository:
* Establish and maintain a global repository of regulations impacting Maersk's commercial autonomy.
* Work analytically with large data sets from over 130 countries.
* Serve as the first point of contact for business stakeholders regarding commercial regulation.
* Provide relevant regulatory information and guidance to business stakeholders.
Public Affairs Strategies:
* Develop and execute public affairs strategies for high-impact countries and projects.
* Map external stakeholders such as political decision-makers, regulators, and trade associations.
* Collaborate with colleagues in respective countries to assess and engage with external stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance in Decision Making:
* Ensure regulatory requirements are considered in commercial decision-making and communication.
* Provide guidance on regulatory filing or publishing of rates and surcharges.
* Advise communication and business teams on narrative and presentation.
Advocacy Efforts:
* Drive advocacy efforts globally through industry associations and bilateral engagements.
* Determine the most effective approach for advocacy on a case-by-case basis.
* Scan for trends and developments impacting global trade and regulatory frameworks.
* Write policy papers and regulatory updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Adaptability and Support:
* Adapt to changing environments and provide support to local colleagues.
* Navigate using common sense and moral compass when faced with unknowns.
* Maintain a structured approach while being flexible to course correct as needed.
Your Profile:
* Educational background in public policy, law, political science, or economics.
* Experience with commercial and market regulation in the public sector or as a consultant, lawyer, or management consultant.
* Corporate experience in an international or global company.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
* Excellent English proficiency.
